Full Moon Timing & Spiritual Significance
In 2025, the full moon begins at 7:18 PM on July 9 and ends at 8:43 PM on July 10 (IST). This sacred lunar window invites us to sit in silence, reflect on our path, and receive the blessings of the Guru—seen and unseen.
Girivalam – The Sacred Walk Around Arunachala
Thousands of devotees take part in Girivalam, the ancient 14-km circumambulation around Arunachala hill. Every step under the glowing full moon becomes a mantra, a prayer, a renewal.
At Arunamangala, guests are invited to walk this sacred path, or meditate in stillness at Shivogam, our elevated hill-facing meditation space. The mountain stands quiet. The heart becomes clear.
rom Tirumurai: Appar and the Guru Within
We reflect on the life of Tirunavukkarasar (Appar), one of the foremost saints of the Tamil Shaiva tradition. Once a Jain monk, he returned to the path of Shiva—not through instruction, but through a deep, inner awakening.
At the temple of Tiruvadhigai Veeratteswarar, Appar sang:
“கூற்றத்தொடு ஆயிடுங்கொண்டார் குற்றம் கெடக் கழலிணை ஏத்தி…”
“By praising the feet that vanquish sin and death, all karmic faults dissolve.”
